Charity Golf Classic

The Todd Johannes Memorial Charity Golf Classic was established to memorialize Todd’s participation in baseball, his lifelong interest.

The funds raised will be used for youth baseball and softball player development as part of the Johannes Ballplayer Development Charity, Inc. (IRS-approved 501(c)(3)).

About Todd


Todd passed away June 17, 2018 in Antiqua, Guatemala of natural causes at the age of 41. In Guatemala he was forming a medical supply LLC for servicing Latin America. During the country’s June 2018 volcano eruptions Todd organized, funded, and transported emergency supplies to victims.

Graduating from the University of Florida, Todd was a Gator catcher for the 1996 to 1999 seasons. Drafted by the Montreal Expos he played 1999 to 2003 seasons at all levels in the minor league, including the AAA level Ottawa Lynx. In 2004 Todd played with the Independent League’s New Jersey Jackals before leaving baseball to begin a career in the medical device industry. Todd passed away of natural causes June 17, 2018.

Charity Mission

The Charity’s focus is skills development of youth baseball and softball players. The focus is on three categories:

To be considered, the player or coach must have a history of playing consistently in one of the two sports, completed each season of play, and have a reference to attest to commitment to the sport.

that have the financial need, are sincere in using the sport to further their life status, and their actions help create a positive public image of themselves.

Coaches

of youth sports programs that recognize a need for further development in managing and inspiring positive achievements in player development.

that need financial sponsor assistance to organize and participate in a program.

Funding for the Charity is derived from the Annual Todd Johannes Memorial Charity Golf Classic and individual contributions.
